A recent addition to Marianne Boesky Gallery, Dean Levin’s career has seen meteoric rise in the last year. Since graduating from Pratt in 2012 with a degree in architecture, the Johannesburg-born, California-raised artist has been included in group shows worldwide, including at Rod Barton (London), Berthold Pott (Cologne), and Sean Kelly Gallery (New York). In addition to a sold-out solo debut at Robert Blumenthal last May, Levin has had solo exhibitions at Retrospective Gallery and Bill Brady Gallery (Kansas City).
The 26-year old artist is the youngest to join Marianne Boesky’s stable, featuring at fairs alongside Post-War heavyweights like Frank Stella. Levin’s sculptures and paintings evidence his rigorous architectural training, showcasing a playful, yet sophisticated treatment of form and space. His debut at Marianne Boesky in May 2015 is hotly anticipated and market demand has risen rapidly since Levin’s auction debut this month.
